Hi Nancy, thanks! I do believe however that the man of your house may travel more often than the one here... Well, God is good, and with His grace we are able to run just about everything into an academic-enriching opportunity!

Dear Ana,
The man of our house travels, too, and it sounds like we do many of the same things you do--treat ourselves to some special times and keep track of his progress on a map.

Our speciality is eating supper on the floor! We always do that at least once while he's gone. We put a table cloth on the floor and make like a picnic. It is a fun adventure right in our own home.

And we have what we call "Sleepovers" but that just means children are invited to sleep over with mom. It feels better when he's away for the rest of us to stick together.

Thanks for this, it's nice to know another family who finds fun in dad's trips, too.

Thanks, Country Bubs! So happy to inspire anyone these busy days of fall homeschooling. And bring out those maps next time he's out the door!
What an inspiring article! Also a homeschooling, living in the country, traveling husband family, we are more in the mode of "just survive" until Dad gets home. It never occurred to me to use a map.... We do however have lots of things to eat that Dad doesn't like (hash, watermelon,...) And we definately crowd together . This last time everyone dragged their mattresses to our end of the hall. Thanks for the inspiration!
